TIME IS FLYING BY IN RED FROG!

DECEMBER 5, 2014
We have been here in Bocas del Toro for almost a month and it seems like just days.  It's Perfect has gotten some much needed attention.  The stainless has been cleaned, bosons locker looks great and we have replaced the foam in the cushions on deck.  All this along with finally getting the grunge off the waterline that we picked up in Trinidad.

The electronics are mostly in and we have a few more things being brought in by Craig and Angela from Kema.  They will arrive on Sunday the Dec 14 for a weeks stay.  Having company also give us the excuse to do a thorough clean below decks and get rid of some of the STUFF we have collected.

All is not work here at Red Frog.  Rod and I are finally getting back into walking regularly.  Thanks to the many hills on the island our walking serves as great exercise.  Once or twice a week we take the water taxi into Bocas Town to pick up whatever we forgot to get the last time we went.  Lists are good, they are just not foolproof.

The local children are regular visitors to the dock and we try to stay prepared with snacks for them.  They come selling everything from the fish they catch, empanadas their mom cooks to coconut oil.  A few speak a little English and we practice our Spanish on them while the learn a few new words in English.

Daniel and his 2 year old brother come several times a week, usually with fish they have caught.  Having a 2 year old out with a 9 year old in a dugout canoe on open water is not something we think of as safe.  But here the children become very self sufficient early in their lives.  Daniel watches Felaberto carefully but I must say the 2 year old is like no 2 year old I have ever seen in the US.  At 2 he sits quietly in the canoe, doing what his brother tells him to and I am sure he is becoming a great fisherman.  We are visitors in this part of the world and life for children here is much different.
