As soon as the marine center could clear space to get back to work, she was put back on the hard. The ugly duckling was becoming a swan before our very eyes.
PePe and his crew did an excellent job of smoothing the hull and deck. Then came the paint and nonskid. She looked great. Before we put her in the water to take her to her next temporary home, she became It's Perfect.
November 4th 2008 we moved It's Perfect across Clear Lake to the Watergate Marina, the last stop before sailing into the Gulf of Mexico. Now the creation of a new list that seems to grow by the week. At this point we cut down to every other weekend to make the drive to the boat.
Life lines were installed and preparations were made to step the masts.
The main mast was stepped on Feb 9th 2009 and the Mizzen on March 1st. Since then installing the rigging and hardware on the deck has kept Rod and David very busy. David's friendship, moral support and assistance has made this process much easier. The list is huge but we mark things off and add more with every weekend. The end result will be sailing away. We will try to update this blog regularly, keeping everyone aware of progress made.
