July 2008 - the work on the Hull and Deck began right away. We made the 5hr drive almost every weekend, the progress was amazing. In early Sept. hurricane Ike was on its way and she had to be put into the water unfinished. Rod tied her to the end of the service dock with 8 lines and drove home to worry and wait. Ike ran directly over Clear Lake Marina. When it moved on we were frantic to see what had become of our boat. After an 11 hour drive Rod and David could hardly recognize the marina. Most of the buildings, docks and boats were either gone or in piles in the parking area or on the road. Less than a dozen boats survived. Our dream was meant to be. She was attached to a piling by only 2 lines, virtually undamaged. Wow! The dock she was tied to was gone.
