First time under full sail - We had a long weekend working on It's Perfect from 8/28 to 8/30. Rod & David had her hauled out & spent 2 days rebuilding the upper rudder shaft bearing & installed 2 new thru hulls. It looks great! If you know Rod & David's work you know this part of the boat is ready for a Cape rounding. She was back in the water early on Mon 8/31 & it was time to take her out for the 1st time ever under full sail. We left the dock at 12:30 with Rod, David, Skip & Linda as crew. After almost 5 years it was great to finally be under way. We sailed past Kemah Boardwalk and out into the bay. The weather was pleasant with winds at 10 to 15 knots. The sails are all used & are not a perfect fit. Minor modifications are still needed. The main sheet traveler is not installed so a creative option was necessary. We saw a few dolphins, working fishing trawlers & huge container ships in the shipping lanes. Its Perfect returned to the dock at Watergate Marina at 6:30pm and a great time was had by all. Not many pics, Linda, on the camera was a bit queasy the first time out. More later.
