SUNDAY
– One year ago today we embarked on a new journey, one that we had
waited for more than 30 yrs. We said goodbye to family & friends
at Watergate Marina in Kemah, Texas & headed off into a world so
different that we had very little grasp of the reality of it. No
matter how much you prepare, there is so much to learn it is
sometimes overwhelming.
Our
journey has taken us some 4000 miles to unknown parts of the U.S. &
the Caribbean. Today we left Conception Island & are sailing to
Rum Cay. Soon we will be heading towards the Dominican Republic,
Puerto Rico & the Virgin Islands.
BROKE THE LINE & BACK TO THE SEA HE GOES |
We
have traveled to beautiful places with friendly people. Meeting
fellow cruisers, that have endured the unknown of their capabilities
& triumphed over the never ending challenges. Every day on the water has taught us incredible new
things about ourselves & the world we live in.
Some
days when the sun sets, our confidence has been battered beyond all
recognition. When the sun rises the next morning, it is a day full
of new possibilities. With the sparkling blue water running under
our keel, the bright blue sky overhead & a fresh cool breeze in
our face life feels delicious.
This
experience is like no other. We are looking forward to many more
days where we explore new places, meet new friends & the
possibilities of our lives are endless.
Congratulations on a great year of adventure and wonderment. :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the story this sequence of pictures told. Sometimes what you envision for the evening meal is fresh grilled mahi mahi. And what you get is chicken breast. (again....).
That is OHHH Soooo TRUE! Can not wait to see you guys in Totola!
