DOLPHIN SHOWING US THE WAY |
On our
third day back we took the dinghy to explore one of the islands we
did not visit with Ben. As we walked the sandy white shore we
collected a few shells, found an interesting piece of driftwood that
resembles an crocodile head and finally came across a very unusual
find. Half buried in the sand was what appeared to be the lower
jawbone of a whale. The bone was about 5ft long and 2 to 3ft wide.
Wish Ben could have seen it. You never know what you will see out
here in far away places.
The days here are slow and easy. Most afternoons we take the dinghy to one of the islands and walk the shore or swim in the clear warm water. Boats come and go, most anchoring at BBQ Island. The Kuna's manage many islands charging a $3 daily fee to come ashore. The water around that island they call the Swimming Pool. It is 10 to 15ft deep and looks just like you are swimming in a pool. Beautiful.
