LIGHTENING PLUS 10 DAYS

AUGUST 23,2014
ALL THAT WAS LEFT OF OUR WINDEX
It is definitely the rainy season in Central America. We are anchored in Portobelo Harbor Panama which many of the cruisers anchored around us call home 6months out of the year. It's a very dreary scene with thunderstorms and lightening everyday, not a place I would want to call home.

THE BEGINNING OF OUR PILE OF
DAMAGED SYSTEMS
Here aboard It's Perfect it is taking longer than expected to get our usually unbeatable spirits back on target. We have spent most of our married life starting things from scratch or rebuilding one thing or another so what is different about this? The lack of our usual surplus stores or resale shops found everywhere in the United States makes our task here more difficult on a small budget. Colon, the only town near with marine supply stores is 20 miles away on a bus or an expensive taxi. We will venture there on Monday riding the local bus and see what is available.

For now progress is slow. There is one shop here in Portobelo that resells marine parts. Most of what Dave has is not usable for us but we have found a refrigerator controller among his treasures that will work and possibly a display for the radar. Once we start making progress we are confident our spirits will get back to normal.

It's Perfect is patiently waiting while we slowly work on the daunting task of replacing her systems.
