HAPPY TO BE BACK IN THE WATER

MARCH 26, 2016
LOOKS LIKE A BIG JOB
Since my last posting much has happened.  I spoke of the next list and I am sorry to say it got lost in the huge amount of things to be done.  4 days ago we finally SPLASHED It's Perfect into the St John's River and tied her to the long dock here at Green Coves Springs Marina.  Even with all the things that have yet to be done before we set sail, she looked beautiful back in the water.

AMAZING WHAT A COAT OF PAINT CAN DO
While she was on the hard the list of things to do just kept on growing.  Slowly they began to get checked off.
The wind generator and dinghy davits were reinstalled, the dinghy bottom painted, bottom sanded and painted, bow patched and painted, batteries checked, chain and anchor replaced, solar panel controller checked, engine serviced and checked, dinghy motor checked and bottom painted.

NEW BOW PAINT
We also offloaded everything washable and did many loads of laundry and sinks full of dishes.  While everything was offloaded I took my handy bottle of bleach and attacked the mildew that has grown below on all the hard surfaces.  With that done, out came the paint.  Below the beds and sofas, in the cabinets and in all the lockers are now coated with a new coat of bright white paint.  Now it looks like progress is being made.  It is now much easier to see the end of the immense list of things left to be done.

As soon as she was in the water and on the dock, new projects began.  Soon the decks were offloaded onto the dock.  After the entire afternoon spent scrubbing and polishing the decks, cockpit and hardtop. Things were definitely looking up!  If our energy holds up she will be looking like new soon.

Being on the dock and thoughts of new adventure makes us want to be on the move!  Not just yet, work will continue and we hope to be able to move aboard within the  next week.  Hard work makes everything in life look better.  More pictures to come soon.
