Skip heard a strange noise coming from the engine compartment which set off the drill to find out what is causing it. The sails went up without a hitch, Rod & David went below to investigate the noise. The alternator belt was loose, causing the problem. Tools out & repair was made. All were glad it was something simple.
Winds were light & the sun was out, it was a beutiful day for sailing. Everyone took a turn at the helm & then the time had come to practice man overboard drill. This was taken very seriously although we hope never to have to use it. After a less than perfect & quite funny first try, we got the hang of it. The whole process made us all keenly aware of the need to practice this drill. Our goal is to not need to use it. Use of harness & jack lines will be required by all crew-at all times while on deck offshore.
We returned to the dock approx 6pm so that Vini could get home for a hot date, Saturday was his and Yada's 5th wedding anneversary.
We will be working on the project list right up to race time I am sure, but all are eager for the START! More pic's, Linda was feeling better, will update after the race.
