NAPLES, FLORIDA - A VIEW FROM THE CANALS

BEAUTIFUL HOMES ALONG THE CANAL
MAY 21, 2013

Naples, Florida & we are at the City Marina tied to a mooring ball & tonight should be our last night. The weather is in the upper 80’s during the day & cooling to the upper 60’s at night.

We have done a little sightseeing, dinghy riding & resting before our 14 hour trip to Key West tomorrow.  These are the cleanest waters we have seen.  You don’t see any trash anywhere.  Naples has beautiful homes on small canals, & convenient shopping & restaurants right by the marina. There are signs everywhere to watch for manatees, but fish & dolphin are all we have seen.
We are watching a thunderstorm system off the Keys tonight.   If the weather allows we will leave about 4 in the morning so we can arrive before dark in Key West.  Captain Paul Boyd has reserved a mooring ball for us & it will be great to catch up with all that’s been going on with Momma Kat.  We will spend a week or more getting ready to round Florida & head up the east coast.

We expect to see some strange & interesting things in Key West.  Pictures will follow!

  1. Manatees hell, I'm thinking the signs in Key West will read "Watch out for Captain Paul Boyd"

I can't remember the last time I saw him; at least not very much of it. Something about a mexican restaurant in Kemah and tequila shots....followed by double dare's and triple dare's...and then ..."yaoun't another'n me too"...an then.."I can if you can chicken boy"...and then.............
well anyway say "hi" for me.
