It’s Perfect has left
the Houma City Dock! Yeah!!!!!!! We departed Houma about 7AM, about an
hour behind Sassy Cat. On our last night on the dock we had some
unexpected visitors at about 10PM. We
were in the main salon watching a movie & someone was shining flashlights
into our ports from the dock. Rod went
on deck to see what these people wanted.
Two armed young men in uniform shirts said “ WE are with US Customs & are checking on the boats on this dock.” After
telling them we had been here several days & we were busy watching a movie,
they moved on. Interesting company for
late at night!
Back on the ICW again
we saw our first alligator! This may be alligator country but they do not make themselves visible often. Today is a short day, leaving mile marker 57
heading for mile marker 15, Lafitte, La.
We are now 15 miles south west of New Orleans, anchored off
a small island near the old Fleming Canal store. This is a beautiful anchorage, huge trees, Spanish moss & grasses line the water. The only problem is this seems to be at thorough fair, the boat traffic going in & out is very busy. Sassy Cat is anchored nearby & as the sun went down the traffic slowed & quiet fell over the water..
