LEAVING KEY WEST

BEAUTIFUL SUNSET ON THE MOORING BALL, KEY WEST

Rod was up early & off in the dinghy to retrieve scuba equipment from Paul.

GOING DOWN TO ATTACH A NEW ZINC
ROD IN THE SPIRIT OF KEY WEST

He was back by 10AM & into the water to replace the zinc on the prop shaft & scrape the few barnacles that decided to live on the bottom.  The water is about 87 degrees & clear as glass.  This boat project took approx. 30 min. & Rod was rinsed off & in dry clothes ready for the trip into town.

VIEW OF THE KEY WEST BIGHT MARINA FROM
THE TURTLE KRAAL
After off loading the equipment onto Momma Kat & getting Captain Paul out of bed it was time  for a noon break at the Turtle Kraal.  We are going to miss Key West.  I have never been so entertained by just watching what goes on at the docks.  Key West is the place to be if you are planning a visit to the Florida Keys.

When we returned to It's Perfect at about 2:30 in the afternoon it was time for a short nap.  We have had the sun shade up since we arrived.  With the light breeze, we are quite comfortable napping in he cockpit.

As the sun sets on Fleming Key, we will put the dinghy back on the davits, take down the shades & stow everything on deck in preparation for departure in the morning.  Not too early, we are going to anchor around Marathon which is about 47 miles up the Keys.
