STOVE POINT NECK - AN AFTERNOON RIDE

August 27, 2012 -  Just me, riding beneath a beautiful sky, cool breeze & time.

Time alone is scarce when you live on a boat of 44ft.   A bike ride seemed to be in order.  I took  the shore road to the end of Stove Point Neck.   It must be more than 2 miles to the end of the point.  It is the only road in or out of the neighborhood surrounded by the water of Fishing Bay on one side & the Chesapeake Bay on the other.

The winding single lane road is shaded by pine, oak & sweet gum trees.  The homes are on large lots facing the water.   Some of them are obviously old & some quite new.  They all have the same breathtaking view of the water.

I saw few vehicles & few people on my trek to the end of the point.  The only thing you could hear, the rustle of leaves, the breeze in the pines & the song of birds.  Who would have thought it would be me, riding a bicycle along such a beautiful lane so far from what we have always called home, Texas.

  1. It helps to have a commercial sewing machine & seamstress on board? How about pictures of your handywork? Will you be doing bicicle covers next? If so I want to order a couple. Kent
