| Anchorage just inside Georgetown Inlet |
6:45AM -.After spending last night at anchor just off the Georgetown Inlet, we are on our way out into the Atlantic once again. The weather is cool & clear. Winds are 10 knots, It's Perfect is motor sailing at 6 to 7 knots with a little current on our side. We are staying about 3 to 4 miles off shore & have had little in the way of other boats for company.
It was a great quiet day on the water The most exciting thing was when Rod's trolling line started to sing. I slowed the boat & Rod went into action to figh the big fight & land the fish. After a few minutes of fish verses fisherman, Rod wins of course. After all that excitement he pulls in a 30 inch Atlantic Needlefish. Hmmmmmm well not dinner for tonight but fun to catch & back into the water he goes as we resume our course.
At about 3:30PM we turned into the outside Charleston Harbor channel. Now we are seeing all manner of pleasure & fishing boats. As we pull into the jetties the water calms down & things are beginning to look familiar. Our last visit to Charleston we anchored just off the City Marina & by 5PM we are turning into the anchorage. There are not as many boats as there were before so we have our pick of choice places just off the channel.
| ARRIVING IN CHARLESTON, SC. |
After being outside in the big water on a beautiful day, we settled in for the night. Dinner & a movie are in order. After a long day out, an easy to make meal is the only choice for me. I retrieve a jar of home canned pot roast, peel potatoes & make a salad. In less than 30 minuets we are sitting down to homemade mashed potatoes & pot roast. It is hard to believe the pot roast I canned in February can taste sooooo... good!!! It tastes just as if I had just cooked it. Having beef I canned myself, has been a great addition to our provisions.
A glass of wine as the sun goes down & a new adventure will begin tomorrow.
