We have planned a trip to New Mexico to visit relatives & it is time to get things ready to leave It's Perfect for a 3 week trip.
Before we left on our trip we finished a few of the things on the famous "To Do List". We began slowly when we arrived back in Charleston, checking off progress as we made it. Most things did not take long but just had not been addressed during our new life of cruising. One on the Top of the list was to finish the enclosure. We used the materials we had left & are quite pleased with the result. Bring on the rain, the waves & the cold. We are ready for whatever our new life brings next.

While the sewing machine took up space in the main salon I did some of the small things that needed to be done. The windlass required a cover, as did the grill, generators & the Life Sling. All of these were easy to accomplish after Rod took all the measurements and made a pattern. Lucky me, as long as I have a pattern, the sewing part is easy.
Before the dinghy could be put up on the davits while we were gone it required attention. The bottom had all sorts of sea creatures growing on it. A little sea weed, barnacles & some things we could not identify. It took most of the day to pull it onto the dock, scrub the inside & bottom and then condition the tubes. After getting it cleaned up the rope handhold on each tube needed to be replaced. After a hard day of work, it looked Great! Then QUICK, before anything else could grow on it, we pulled it up on the davits for safe keeping.
