CHRISTMAS PARADE! ! ! ! ! !

SANTA IS COMING TO CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA
DECEMBER 2, 2012

Today was the annual Christmas Parade in Charleston, South Carolina.  We were invited to the parade by Geoffrey aboard Mattie Fine at the Ashley Marina.  A friend of his lives right on the parade route &  her Christmas Parade Party year is famous!

She lives in one of the historic homes just blocks form downtown that has been converted into condominiums.  This was my first look into one of these beautiful old  homes.  Hers is about 800 sq. ft. at the back of the original house.  This gives her the only condo with a garden & driveway.

The rooms inside the house were small but beautifully done.  Old wood floors, brick walls & 2 original fire places gave the house a warm, old world feeling.  I loved it.  The garden complete with a Koi pond is just outside the entry.

The parade passes right in front of her driveway on Board Street. When we arrived on our bikes, the
party was already underway.  Food & drink were already set up in the driveway & the curb was lined with chairs.  We met many new people, sampled wonderful food & enjoyed a glass of wine. It was finally time for the parade to begin.

Charleston puts on quite a parade!  Floats, bands, soccer teams, school Kings & Queens, singers, dancers, clowns, dogs & more made up this years parade.  After almost 2 hours Santa Clause brought the parade to a close.  We had a wonderful time & felt right at home in the neighborhood.

ROD & THE ROLLER BLADE QUEEN
It was wonderful to celebrate the Christmas Holiday with new friends. As we work getting ready for our departure, our Christmas present to ourselves will be moving It's Perfect south, toward clear blue water & warmer temperatures.  There is still much to do but progress is being made everyday

THE PARADE HAS GONE TO THE DOGS

EVERYONE LOVE'S A PARADE
