PASSAGE TO LUPERON, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

WEIGHING ANCHOR
CANNON BALL IS SLEEPING

We left Sopadilla Bay, the Turks & Caicos at dawn turning east through the Caicos Banks.  We had a great sail in the company of Cannon Ball through out the day.  In the afternoon they left us in their wake.  We took turns at the helm throughout the night & lost Cannon Ball at Big Sand when we turned south.

We turned into the cut for Luperon Bay after 27 hours on the water.  We dropped the anchor right next to Cannan Ball, who took 24 hours to make the run.  After a long hard passage what we really wanted was a nap.  That was not to be, the Dominican Navy came aboard just as the anchor went down. After a couple of hours of dealing with paperwork we settled down for a shower & the comfort of our bed.  There was a cool breeze, the bay was calm & it was perfect for a long needed nap. We will stay here in Luperon until the end of the week & then move on as weather permits.
