LEAVING THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

ENTRY INTO LUPERON

Today was spent getting Its Perfect ready for tomorrow's departure. We have enjoyed our stay here the Dominican Republic, the people are friendly & the cruisers that live here are very helpful to those of us passing thru.  The country is beautiful with dark green hills & mountains everywhere you look.  We hope to come this way again.

The trade winds blowing in from the east will keep us here until sundown.  After going into town to clear out & pick up our departure papers it will be time to leave the harbor turning east. We will sail in the light winds of the night on toward Puerto Rico. We have a 4 day weather window, our destination Boqueróne.

Peregrine left Georgetown the same day we did, they are also bound for Grenada. We have anchored with them several times in the last two weeks & again they will be leaving this anchorage when we do. David & Libby sail a Catalina 420 which is much faster than It's Perfect. They should arrive well ahead of us as we reach Puerto Rico.
