ADMIRALTY BAY, BEQUIA

June 26, 2013
Today was a beautiful day & we had things to do.  A trip into town was in order.  Since we do not get up as early as we once did, it was mid morning before we got started.

There is a Laundromat with new machines just off the dinghy dock, I will treat myself & wash everything I can get my hands on.  Right next door to the laundry is the Bequia Pizza Hut, this establishment is legendary with the boating community.  So lunch was hot cheesy pizza, it was great.  Before leaving town we stocked up on a few groceries at Knights.  This small store had an amazing selection, almost everything we needed including beer & wine.  One more stop to the outdoor fruit & veg market, then back to the boat exhausted.

Last night we had an entertaining sunset in the anchorage.  There is a 47ft catamaran anchored very close by.  It is a charter boat from Dream Yacht Charters with a large family aboard, they are flying a French flag.  I have always thought Americans are a little too narrow minded on the subject of nudity.  Well I must say the French have no qualms about nudity at all.

After they all bathed off the back of the boat, they proceeded to pull up the anchor & move the boat a little closer to shore & other boats.  Now I would not find this unusual except they did it completely in the nude, except the two women who tastefully donned swim suits .  Seems like it could be a dangerous exercise in that condition.  After that chore was complete they gathered on the back deck for drinks.

Now one might think I was being a little too attentive to their activities.  All of this occurred as Rod & I sat in the cockpit having a glass of wine with our dinner of roasted chicken, salad & corn on the cob.  Needless to say the radio was buzzing with mostly Americans having their say about the scenery.  As the sun went down the chatter stopped & the French family aboard the cat finally had some privacy.

After a long hot day in town we were sitting in the cockpit watching the boats come & go.  The French boat took this opportunity to head out of the bay for new & interesting places.  I was quite surprised when the captain waved goodbye as I took his picture.
