AT ANCHOR MT HARTMAN BAY NOW OFFICIALLY WHAT SOME CALL SAILOR TRASH THE SUN SHADES ARE COVERING THE DECKS |
Since arriving for an extended stay in Grenada, we have settled into a wonderful pace which has become normal. Slow............. Mt Hartman Bay is only one bay over from Prickly Bay but seems a world away.
When the sun goes down all you hear is the hushed wash of the waves as they cross the shallow reef at the entrance of the bay. There are a few houses around the bay & 1 small marina but the quiet & the darkness after sundown is quite remarkable. The stars come out to cover the sky as the twinkle of anchor lights begin to flicker on.
After the traffic, music & neighbors just off the stern & bow in Prickly, it feels like someone flipped off a switch of noise. There is a need for all the things going on in bays full of people & activities. The cruising community as a whole thrives on the pace, crowds & scheduled group happenings.
Some cruisers like ourselves search out a more secluded piece of paradise to call our temporary home. Our view is different, our pace is different. All around us this island paradise flows slowly from dawn to dark , it seems you can only follow. The day is less scheduled, less hectic. If you feel the need for noise & a group activity, it is easily accessible just a dinghy ride away.
