PRICKLY BAY PIZZA NIGHT

SEPTEMBER 2, 2013

We are making preparations to leave Mt Hartman Bay & pick up a mooring ball in Prickly Bay.  After checking many things off our list we still have to make water, pickle the membrane of the water maker, go up the mizzen mast, measure the radar scanner for a new belt & install a check valve in one of the bilge pumps.

Once we are settled on the ball there is still laundry, defrosting the freezer & hauling diesel cans, dinghy motor & misc. to storage for the duration of our trip.  It does sound like a lot, but when boarding is called for our flight we will be there & ready to go.

We had a chance to meet friends at 2 FOR ONE PIZZA NIGHT, at Prickly Bay a couple of days ago.  The crowd was lively & the beer & the pizza were plentiful.  On pizza night the restaurant is full of cruisers & students alike.  Grenada is home to the St George's University, School of Medicine & also a Veterinary School.
STACY LOVES CHEESY PIZZA

We found the students interesting & friendly.  The Vet students all support the local animal shelter & many are owners of a variety of dogs.  This week one young woman had a pit bull that had only 3 legs, she was hurt in a fight & had it amputated.  The owner did not want her in that condition & left her at the shelter.  She got around just as well as any other dog & was very friendly.  There were many other dogs at Pizza Night including a Siberian husky, Pug, Labrador & many dogs of questionable parentage.  It is a nice change to talk to people who have something other than living aboard a boat on their minds.

WHERE IS MY PIZZA ? ?

Seems like yesterday we arrived, dropped our anchor & set up a daily routine of living aboard in Grenada.  Turn around, it has been 2 months & its time to leave the boat & head back to the USA.  Rod wants to see all our family & friends but he is not sure he really wants to leave the boat.  Well there is a dilemma.  At any rate we will soon be on our way & before anyone knows what happened we will be headed back to Grenada.  Once again living aboard It's Perfect.
