THE SMALL THINGS OF LIFE

SEPTEMBER 4, 2013

THIS IS THE GOOD LIFE

A few days ago we were invited by Lela & John from Yachtsman's Dream over for Brunch.  While living on a boat we rarely go to the trouble of making truly beautiful meals. I must say Lela outdid herself.

The meal of Eggs Benedict, Fruit Salad & Mimosa's, looked almost too good to eat.  We ate, drank & had wonderful conversion.  A great way to spend an afternoon on the water.

A ROUNDABOUT
ONE AT EVERY BUSY INTERSECTION

We made one more trip into town for parts.  We always walk down L'anse-Aux- Epines Rd. to the first main roundabout, then turn to go the next block to the store.  I am amazed by how smoothly heavy traffic maneuvers using these roundabouts to direct the flow.  Without the aid of traffic lights or stop signs, the cars of Grenada travel the roads like clockwork.  With just the beep of their horn, cars let passing traffic know they are turning or passing.

TREASURE HUNT
SALVAGE
On our way back we hit pay dirt.  Those of you that know Rod & I well,  know we are always in search of a bargain when it comes to boat parts.  Rod spied a derelict dinghy beside a dumpster.  After asking for permission, Rod dug it out of the pile to take a look.  We are now proud new owners of oar locks, two extra valves, two spare handles & patch material.  Not bad for a small salvage job.
