BACK IN THE USA

 SEPTEMBER 16, 2013

We are not in Grenada any more.........  Does not quite seem quite natural, no beautiful green island off our stern, not any beautiful blue water under our keel.  We might have Land Sickness.

We left Grenada Airport on Sunday morning, on the 8th of Sept.  After a long & exhausting flight, lost bags & delayed planes, we arrived in El Paso, Texas late in the evening.  What a culture shock, dry air, desert all around us & sand........... everywhere.  It is great to be here with family & friends.

SHERRIE & DINNER
After a couple of days of recuperating from our travel, it ALMOST seems normal.

Rod's sister Lydia & husband Charlie picked us up from the airport for the 45 min. drive to Las Cruces where I grew up.  Exhausted we fell into bed almost immediately. Computers keep us in touch with the people we have left behind but it does not make up for spending time & catching up with what is important in everyone's lives.  After a few nights at Lydia's home we moved to a different bedroom at the Herman's.
My brothers & their wives will be in on the weekend from Albuquerque & the stories of our travels will be high on the topic of many conversations.  It will be great to see them.

Here at Glenn & Sherrie's, in the middle of a pecan orchard, a box of 16 lobsters arrived live, shipped in from Maine.  It was party time, fresh corn on the cob, green beans from the garden & buckets of wine completed the meal.  Mmmmmmmmmm, great food, wine & wonderful company are the making's of a great party.  We will be staying here for a couple of weeks & there will be more great dinner's to come.

THE END OF AN
AMAZING DINNER
We will be in the states until mid Oct. & will let everyone know how life is on dry land.
