THE END OF HURRICANE SEASON 2013

NOVEMBER 30, 2013
It's a beautiful day in Grenada, the final day of hurricane season for 2013. Once again we have dodged the bullet & It's Perfect is, just perfect. Partly cloudy skies, warm breeze & blue water.  It is cooling off nicely in the evening.  With our new Fantastic Vent Fans we are quite comfortable sleeping without air conditioning.

Cherry

Kiwi
Today we spent the morning on a hike into town.  We needed a couple of things at the grocery and we needed the exercise.  On our path up the hill out of the marina, there are many fruit trees just waiting to be picked.  There are mango's, kiwi, cherries, oranges and limes.  We have been able to keep ourselves in limes since we returned from the states.  The cherries are ripe and ready for the picking.  If you open one up it looks just like a cherry we are fond of, the only problem is they are quite sour.  They might make good jelly, that is about it.

Limes
On December 16, It's Perfect will be hauled out and the bottom will be repainted.  Without good bottom paint we grow a new reef right on our keel.  Every two years is should be repainted, we are a few months late.  Today Rod scrubbed the waterline and small crabs were running for cover & clinging to the scrub brush.  We expect to be back in the water on Friday Dec 20, this is our Christmas present to ourselves and the boat.

Our tentative plan for the future few months is to move north beginning the first of the year.  We will spend more time in some of the places we loved on our sail down and visit many of the islands we missed. Our turnaround point is still St Maarten, there we will provision before again heading south for hurricane season.  The question is, do we return to Grenada, which we love or make our crossing over to Aruba & Panama.
