IT'S PERFECT IS BACK IN THE WATERS OF GRENADA

DECEMBER 21, 2013

TODAY IS THE DAY!

It's Perfect has left Spice Island Marine.  Yesterday about 11AM she was on the Travel  Lift ready to be lowered into the pit.  The workers of Spice Island Marine did an excellent job. The bottom has not looked this good since it was done at South Texas Yacht Services in Kemah, over 2 years ago.  We are good to go for another 2 years.

ONTO THE TRAILER

INTO THE TRAVEL LIFT AND INTO THE PIT
Once aboard and off the dock we gladly headed back to what we think of as our personal spot to anchor in Mt Hartman Bay.  All of the anchorages around the island are a little less crowded this time of year.  Many boats have moved north and will return again to spend the hurricane season next year.  There seems to be a large community of boats that make this island their home for 6 months every year.
If it is  paradise you are looking for, Grenada is hard to beat.

KITE BOARDING A FAVORITE SPORT HERE
After settling in and getting organized, the sunshades went up and we were done for the day.  December in Grenada is much windier than other months, something they call the Christmas Winds.  This may be one of the reasons there is an exodus beginning in November.    The winds also bring more rain than we have had at had any other time since we arrived.  The days are a bit cooler with the water temperature a much cooler 84 degrees.

Tomorrow we will walk over the hill to Prickly Bay to meet with David and Libby from Peregrine who arrived yesterday from Trinidad.  We met Peregrine in the waters of the Bahamas and sailed with them from The Dominican Republic to Puerto Rico, across the Mona Passage.  It will be great to catch up with each others adventures over lunch.

REEFS ARE CLEARLY VISIBLE AS WE ENTER MT HARTMAN

It is looking like we may stay here for Christmas after all.  The weather is supposed to be good but, arriving on Christmas Eve is a concern.  Customs may not be open.  We do not have enough information yet to be sure.  Until that time, it is just another day in Paradise here aboard It's Perfect.
