THE ASS OF THE CHICKEN IS ON THE WAY.

STREET VENDORS ON EVERY CORNER
Colombia does not have hurricane's in the months of June through October it has something much more colorful.  The locals talk of squalls that come on you fast and they leave you fast.  They develop south of Cartagena and move south to north.  Last year one blew through in June with winds up to 60 knots that lasted for almost an hour.  The Colombians refer to these storms as The Ass of the Chicken.  We have not figured out exactly what a chicken has to do with anything.

Yesterday we ventured by taxi to Ferre Marine in Bosque looking for additional chain and perhaps a bigger anchor.  After all the Ass of the Chicken is on the way.   We soon found they had nothing we were looking for.  After talking to the owner about possibly ordering chain and anchor we were ready to return to It's Perfect empty handed.  We were on the street looking for a taxi to Caribe Plaza about halfway back to Club Natico.  None would take us that direction.

This was the beginning of a new adventure.  More than once in our travels we have been stranded in questionable neighborhoods and here we were again.  We began walking back along a main road that led us through industrial neighborhoods and then the open vegetable and fish market along the waterway.   This market was nothing like what we found on the waterfront in Curacao.

We found ourselves in a very poor and dirty part of town that smelled very bad.  Even though the fish and produce looked fresh, we were the only foreigners to be seen.  We did not linger and walked on.  The road finally took us into Pie De La Popa and to Caribe Plaza.  We were finally back in familiar territory.  After cooling off in the air conditioned comfort of the 3 story shopping mall we were ready for the final hike back to Club Natico.  The search goes on for larger ground tackle.
