IT'S PERFECT IS UNDERWAY

UNDERWAY ONCE AGAIN
It's Perfect set sail for Bocas del Toro a little later than expected. The new auto pilot was not working properly and it took Rod a while to run down the problem. It turned out to be 2 wires that must have been damaged in the lightening strike and once they were repaired we were on our way.   The day was warm and partly cloudy with a light breeze blowing across the water.  Our final anchorage is 180 miles away just off Red Frog Marina.

After an intense 2 ½ months of parts and repairs we are anxious to be out on the open water. Our plan is to spend the next 2 to 3 months in the clear blue water of the islands of Bocas del Toro searching for the elusive Red Frog of Panama and catching our breath.

Our first day there was little wind and we motor sailed at just over 5 knots.  After 4
hours a large group of melon headed whales arrived to keep us company.  They had no interest in It's Perfect as they fed on a large school of fish all around It's Perfect. The night was uneventful, we passed only 3 commercial ships before sunrise the second morning.

SUNRISE OVER THE CARIBBEAN SEA
After a beautiful sunrise the next morning we were motor sailing through flat calm seas most of the day. The rain clouds began to gather as we neared Blue Field Bay just off the mainland our anchorage for the night.  The bay was beautiful and we were anchored by late afternoon. Time for a hot meal and a cool drink before it was early to bed. Our final leg to Bocas del Toro started at 7am the next morning.
