LIFE ON THE DOCK AT RED FROG MARINA

November 8, 2014

Our life on the dock seems very distant from our life on the hook. I miss the breezy, quiet days. A little at a time we are fitting in to the faster pace of marina life. Jody and Dauphin on Monarch are next to us on the dock and it has been great having time to catch up with their adventures since they left Kemah. Dauphin leaves next week to return to work as a Tug Boat captain for the next couple of months leaving Jody here on the dock with us.
RICO AND ROD AT HAVING SUNDOWNERS

They have a new crew member aboard that has kept all of us entertained since he arrived. Rico is a young parrot who requires a lot of attention. He walks him self across the walkway and climbs up the bumpers to board It's Perfect when he needs a change of scenery. Rod has become a big fan.
Bocas Town is a very busy small town full of cruisers and backpackers almost every day of the week. It is a very long dinghy ride so we take the free shuttle that runs between Red Frog and town. There are shops, hardware stores, a pharmacy and grocery stores that are surprisingly well stocked. You can find most anything you need except boat parts, they do have very basic boat supplies in the hardware stores.
A VIEW FROM THE TOP

Today we walked past the beach, up the mountain past the villas and across the path to the stables and back. This hike takes a couple of hours and by the time we get back to the boat it is time for a nap.
