PEREGRIN AT ANCHOR IN BOCAS |
After a day of taking it easy aboard It's Perfect we have finally caught up with our rest. Time to get off the boat and get a little exercise. Since we are anchored at the foot of our favorite fort we called Peregrin and asked Joe & Michele to see if they were up for a climb.

UPPER BATTERY |
We were off, climbing past the first battery and on up to our own banana tree to check for another stalk ready to carry back to the boat. Not so lucky this time no bananas for It's Perfect. The day was warm and clear and the view from the top of the bay was great. We worked up quite a sweat as we climbed to the upper battery.
Joe and Michelle are new to Portobello so we stopped along the way to say hello to the monkey family that we found on our last visit up the hill. Sure enough they were still sitting there gazing down at us. The baby has grown enough so you could not tell which one he was but they were all there waiting for us.

VIEW OF THE BAY FROM THE TOP |
After a great hike we boarded our dinghy's and headed to It's Perfect for cold beer and a glass of wine. Joe and Michelle are from Minnesota and have been cruising on their 38ft sailboat for about 14 years. We traded stories as the day wound down. They spent 4 years in the Mediterranean stopping in the Azores for about 6 months on their way across the Atlantic. After spending their first winter on the coast of Portugal and Spain they went on to see Italy, Greece, Turkey, Madrid and other stops along the coast of North Africa.
They took several trips inland to see many of the ancient sights in the beautiful countryside. Backpacking and staying in Hostels they were able to see many places in France and Italy. We have met many cruisers who have done the Med and they all rave about the history, beauty and the food. Hmmmmm, well there is still time, you never know.
