RENATA IN THE ANCHORAGE
We have now been anchored in Roatan for more than a week waiting for weather to move on. We had a small storm blow thru the anchorage a few days ago and we woke to see Reneta a 50ft French flagged catamaran, on the reef and taking on water.  Renata had been anchored not far from us since we arrived.  The water was up to the trampoline.  The waves were not big but they were bashing her onto the reef as we watched.  It took most of the day, but they finally got her to float enough to tow her off the reef and she is now over by the shore.  Hard too see disaster happen so close and makes a lightening strike seem not nearly so big a deal.

RENATA ON THE REEF

Things aboard It's Perfect are definitely looking better.  We have been slowly checking off a few of the small things on our LIST.  Rod has repaired the end of the anchor line, secured the windlass wiring, filled the diesel tanks, water tanks and much more while preparing It's Perfect for departure.

I on the other hand have been slowly going through the provisions, clothing, books and other paraphernalia aboard.  The end result should be less to go through when we reach Green Cove Springs, Florida.  I have taken 4 bags of clothes, 1 large bag of books and a bag of canned goods and untold bags of trash ashore.  When we left the USA we had more than 400 cans of food in our long term storage.  We now have less than 25 cans.  My goal is to take as much off the boat before we store it as possible and start fresh when we return.  All the food must go so I am making great progress.

HALF MOON BAY
Along with chores aboard we have walked the streets of Half Moon Bay, met people from Arkansas, Canada, Texas, Panama, France and Honduras.  I love the time after we settle into an anchorage and it begins to feel like home.  Everyday is a new experience, everyday different.

We are waiting for David to arrive from the US.  He will join us for our final passage back to Key  West.  David joined us once before when we were in the BVI's and is excited about this longer blue water passage to come.  He arrives on Saturday and the weather is suppose to be good for a Monday departure.

Until then we are spending our last days alone aboard It's Perfect, before arriving in the USA.    Although getting back home to see family and friends is going to be wonderful, leaving It's Perfect behind for 6 to 9 months is going to be hard.  I think I will miss the quiet, and solitude of living aboard much more than Rod.  As the day gets closer it makes me sad to think our life is going to change so much.  We are leaving our plan for the new year open for now,  you never know what this year will bring.
