SHELL MORGAN LANDING

APRIL 23, 2012

We are on the dock at Shell Morgan Landing.  Tending to a few chores & maintenance.  Laundry was first up & Rod was a huge help.  There is some commercial traffic going by on the ICW, but few other pleasure boats can be seen.

While Rod was doing engine maintenance he discovered a leek in the closed loop engine coolant line.  This line is a 2in diameter, molded hose with a 90 degree bend.  This hose should be available at most auto parts stores.  We were on the phone to all the parts stores & of course there was not one to be found in the area.

After no luck, Rod was talking to the marina owner about other possibilities for parts.  The owner said "Let's look in the back of my pickup, I seem to remember something like that there."  Sure enough it was exactly the hose we had been looking for.  No telling how long it had been in that truck.  It was absolutely amazing!  We offered to pay for it, but no, he said just take it.  That would never happen again in a million years.

We have found people so very helpful & generous since we left Kemah.  We really enjoyed our stay at Shell Morgan Landing at mile marker 95 & would recommend it to everyone coming this way.
