STAY AT THE HILTON INN, LAKE WORTH, FLA & DOCK YOUR YACHT FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY! |
The winds were light as we raised our sails & headed for Lake Worth, Florida. There was much less traffic today & we stayed just off shore. The day passed quickly & at about 2:30PM we made the turn at the marker for the Lake Worth Inlet. This is the point on the US coast that the Gulf Stream comes closest to the land. The extremely strong current from the south along with the tide coming out made the entrance to the channel very difficult to maneuver. We pounded our way in through the raging water & turned south at the green marker # 11. The anchorage was large & calm, a great relief after a hard entrance.
VIEW OF FT. LAUDERDALE AS WE GO BY |
By 3:30 were safely anchored & checking out our new environment. One of the first things we noticed was we are keeping company with an extremely nice 155ft. yacht named Privacy. Yes indeed, Tiger Wood's yacht. He has had it up for sale for 25 million dollars. If any of you are interested, we can take the dinghy over & ask him for a tour.
PRIVACY |
There is a definite trend for bathing naked in the boating community. One of our new neighbors, allowed everyone watch his afternoon routine off the stern of his boat. Hmm. This might be something we should try. Obviously people like it.
We plan on staying put tomorrow, maybe get to know our neighbor, do a little shopping & fill up all the tanks. Then we will be gone again.
