MOBJACK BAY,- DAY 4 IN WESTON CREEK

AUGUST 20, 2012

Weston Creek is a beautiful, quiet, lazy anchorage just off Mobjack Bay.  The first night we lay out on deck amazed at a sky so full of beautiful stars, it looked like someone tossed tiny diamonds onto a piece of black velvet.

Well we have been here 4 days, sleeping late, reading, taking dinghy rides & for the last 2 days listening to the rain.  The temp. during the day is in the 70's & at night in the 60's.  A wonderful change from heat.  We have had 2 catamaran's come in & anchor.  Whiskers spent 2 nights & Joan & Wolf came over one evening for a drink.  We had a great time exchanging stories, they heading out in Whiskers for Europe on Wednesday.

We went to one of the small marina's for ice & were told it was 5 miles to a store.  They were kind enough to loan us a car, all the roads are quite narrow & sparsely populated.  We returned with ice, bread & gasoline.  The people here are very helpful, there is just not much in the way of facilities in the area.

Tomorrow we will pull the anchor & move on to Deltaville.  Maybe it is time for a little more civilization.  The rain has stopped & it is time for a nap......

  1. That sounds like a lovely change of pace from where we've been.
