The anchorage off South River is great, we wish we could stay a few more days. It is time to move on. After sleeping in we pulled up a very muddy anchor at 11:20 AM. One of the best parts of cruising is the schedule, or the lack of schedule. If you over sleep you just leave late.
SOUTH RIVER ANCHORAGE |
From the South River we turned into the Neuse River heading
east. From there we turned into the Bay
River & into Bonner Bay where we anchored behind Bryant Point in 14ft of
water. We are a little surprised at how few boats we encounter. There is always the odd fishing boat or pleasure craft, but not many cruising boats.
BRYANT POINT ANCHORAGE |
After a short day on the water it’s time for a glass of wine
in the cockpit. We took the night off
from any cooking & it was soup & sandwiches for dinner. The evening was cool & the sunset beautiful.
Tomorrow we head for Belhaven, NC. The
stars are coming out & we are both amazed at where we are. Who would have thought 12 months ago we would
be in North Carolina, sailing toward the Chesapeake Bay.
