WHITE SAND BEACHES - AFTER THE PROJECTS

FEBRUARY 6, 2013

As beautiful as North Palm Beach is, we are a little tired of the scenery.  We are expecting our final water maker parts by the end of the week.  If you are counting on someone to ship your parts on time, think again.  As most of you know, we have plenty to keep us busy while we wait.  The Water Maker is still waiting on a few parts to come in, then it will come alive & be making water.

AT ANCHOR
LAKE WORTH, NORTH PALM BEACH, FLORIDA
We made a list of small projects to check off & have only a few left to do.  After sleeping until between 8 & 9AM it is time to get started, our usual work day begins around 10AM & ends about 4PM.  Some of the things checked off this week were, installing 2 more fans below, making bags for the extra life jackets to hang on the life lines, making covers for the bikes, changing out a plug in the galley, resetting the aft head, changing the faucet in the galley, cleaning the stainless on deck.  Now that sounds like we accomplished something.

While we have been keeping our noses to the grindstone, our anchorage is becoming very empty.  Every day multiple boats leave us behind.  Most are on their way to the Bahamas. :(

Hallelujah!!!!!  Late today Steve from Sassy Cat called & our final part has finally been delivered to their door.  We will pick it up in the morning, Steve & Ann have been a huge help by letting us have parts delivered to their address.  We cannot thank them enough.

TREASURE OF THE DAY
A BRAND NEW BUNGEE
In between working on our list & waiting for parts Rod & I took an afternoon off to dinghy to Peanut Island in the southern part of Lake Worth.  As we motored south the water looked much more blue & by the time we reached the first of several small islands it was crystal clear.  It is amazing how much the water changed in just 3 to 4 miles.  We walked the white sand beaches & dreamed of not being in Lake Worth but some secluded anchorage with our own white beach & crystal clear water.  It won't be long now..............

Tomorrow we will gather our final Water Maker pieces & parts, the finish line is in sight.  With a lot of hard work on Rod's part, we should be making water soon.  There will be a NEWS FLASH via the Blog as soon as we have our first glass in hand.
