8 BLOCKS TO LAUNDROMAT
After spending 6 nights at anchor north of Sunset Island in Miami Beach we weighed anchor at 1pm & headed south to Key Biscayne.  This will be our final stop before crossing the Gulf Stream to the Bahamas.  The list of final details to be done before leaving the country has been long but we are now anxious to get underway.

BOB'S FIRST GLASS OF WATER

We finished BOB the Water Maker before we left North Palm Beach.  He has not been put to work because we have been waiting for cleaner water under the boat.  Arriving in Key Biscayne, the anchor went in the water & Rod could hardly wait to start BOB for the first time.   At 3:45pm we turned BOB on, he ran like a dream.  We were so excited we just stood there amazed as the clear clean water flowed out of the product water hose.  We ran the pressure at 850 PSI & he produced 18 gallons the first hour.  We have made our final trip to shore for water!!!  From now on BOB will keep us well supplied with fresh water for all our needs.

Gun Cay will be our first overnight stop, then on to Chub Cay to check in to the Bahamas.  We will then be off to Nassau to await the arrival of my sister Judy.  This will be the first time she has sailed with us & we are both very excited.  After spending the week day sailing between islands her short time with us will come to an end.  Saturday we will return to Nassau for her flight back to Phoenix.

We should be able to update the Blog from Nassau with pictures & information about our crossing.  After that we will be truly in
Island Mode & our availability will be a little bit hit & miss.

We are leaving before daybreak in the morning so the next time I write it will be from the long awaited islands of the Bahamas.

  2. I'm pretty sure if you mix enough tequila and lime juice with salt water you can drink it all dsy long. Washing dishes and showering in that mix....well, ok, welcome aboard BOB!

The "Spot locator" says you're in the Bahamas! Can't wait to hear about the crossing.
