Yesterday Rod & David began
assembly of the reefing lines on the main & mizzen sails. This
is a project that has been on the list since we left, it will be
great to get it finished. Of course we were in need of a few more
parts, which means a dinghy trip.

We spent the afternoon chasing down
parts on the Dutch side of St Martin. After a trip to the bank,
Budget Marine & RK Rigging we had most of what we needed. At our
stop at Budget Marine we ran into two couples searching for parts,
one from SV Minx who had Mike & Cynthia (she is from Oklahoma!)
The other couple were on SV Living the Good Life were Barb & Dan,
the invited us to meet them at the cruisers tavern Barnacles for
Sundowners.
Of course we cannot turn down an
invitation so after all our errands were complete we made our way
across the shallow bay from the Dutch side to the French side. We
had a great time, a few more couples joined us & of course the
conversation was where is everyone going. We had another boat from
Clear Lake, one from Australia & one from Canada. Out of 5 boats
all but one was heading South. Looks like we will be seeing more of
our new friends from Barnacles.
