HOME ON THE FARM

JUNE 1, 2015
GLENN & SHERRIE ARE OFF
We are now alone on the farm, not quite like being alone on a boat but it has it's moments.  The pecan trees are thriving and so is Rod.  He loves being here and has taken to the rhythm of life on dry land like he never left.  Glenn and Sherrie left last week for their great adventure.  I envy them their freedom.  It will take them a while to readjust their way of traveling from moving every day to staying anywhere they like for days or weeks.

STRAWBERRIES SOON TO BE JAM
FARMER ROD

For now I am getting use to the new surroundings and it won't be long before a routine of sorts will settle in.  Rod has planted vegetables and I have my hands in the flowerbeds with dirt up to my elbows.  There is also a bed of strawberries, grape vines, an apricot tree, plum trees and apple trees.  Looks like I will be making jam and pies all the way through the fall.

DOUBLE RAINBOW OVER THE HOUSE AS THE
STORM PASSES

With all the weather blowing across Oklahoma and Texas there has been some small amounts of rain and wind here in Las Cruces.  Here you can smell the rain coming from far away.  The clouds have been dark and threatening but little moisture has reached the dry sands of this valley.  Most days have been clear and sunny.  Daytime temps are in the low 90,s and the night time are still in the low 60's.
